Open Enrollment

2020 Open Enrollment EXTENDED: October 21 - November 22, 2019

2020 Open Enrollment for health coverage is Monday, October 21 at 6:30 AM until Friday, November 22 at 9:00 PM.

ALL BENEFIT ELIGIBLE EMPLOYEES MUST PARTICIPATE IN OPEN ENROLLMENT THIS YEAR!

Because of the transition from American Fidelity to Building Blocks - Colonial Life/Basic Pacific and the Dental Census, all employees must participate in Open Enrollment this year.  All benefit-eligible employees must schedule an appointment with Building Blocks as part of Open Enrollment regardless of whether you want to participate in any 125 Plan or Supplemental Insurance.  Schedule your appointment by going to https://brentwoodusd.youcanbook.me .  Building Blocks advisors can assist you with enrollment in BUSD health insurance as well as 125 Plans and/or Supplemental Insurance.

2020 Dental Census

Enrollment in BUSD Dental Insurance is generally limited to three times: 1) upon initial eligibility (at hiring or increase in hours to four or more per day), 2) for a dependent child until age 5, or 3) within 60 days of a qualifying significant life event.  However, during the 2020 Open Enrollment BUSD will be holding a "dental census."  The dental census allows benefit eligible employees to add dependents upon proof of eligibility - copies of marriage certificates, birth certificates, etc.  Additional information regarding the dental census is being sent to all employees via their BUSD email address.

Benefit Bridge

Open Enrollment is done through Benefit Bridge.   Benefit Bridge is an online system for benefit enrollment and changes.  Employees are able to upload documents pertaining to their benefits (birth certificates, marriage certificates, Medical Coverage Waiver forms, etc.) directly into Benefit Bridge.

These directions provide employees with support the enrollment process.  They will open in a separate window to support you with the login and enrollment process.

If you need additional support a Building Blocks advisor can asssist you.  Schedule your appointment by going to https://brentwoodusd.youcanbook.me . Additionally, you may call Benefit Bridge Customer Care at 800-814-1862 or email them at benefitbridge@Keenan.com

2020 Health Benefits Table - Updated 11/15/19

The 2020 Health Benefits table is available here.  The linked document allows employees to adjust the District contribution if they are less than full time.  You do need to have a Google Drive account to open this document.  If you do not have Google Drive, a pdf version of the table is available here.  Both of these documents have been updated to reflect the MOU agreements with most employee groups.

The 2020 Health Benefits table reflects increases in premiums from Kaiser, 12.24%, and Sutter Health Plus, 3.2%.  It doesn't reflect any possible change in District contribution toward medical benefits.  The District and its employee groups are actively negotiating the increase in District contribution toward medical benefits.
