Intradistrict Transfer Request apply to students who are currently attending school within the Brentwood Union School District (BUSD), who are requesting a transfer between schools within BUSD boundaries.  This request is available to parents/guardians to fill out for their student  to attend another school other than the students school of residence.   The Intradistrict Transfer Requests are available only within the first 5 days of registration or during our Open Enrollment for the following school year.  

Students must be enrolled to have their transfers considered.  If you haven’t registered your student, please start the process at your student’s school of residence, which is their boundary school.  If you don’t know which school is your boundary school, please click here.  Once you have finished the registration process, you can request the transfer form at that time.

If you are wanting to enroll your student for the 2021-2022 school year, you have to wait until registration opens on April 6th.  At the time of new student registration for the 2021-2022 school year, you can fill out the Intra District Transfer request the day you register, not before.

  • PLEASE NOTE, all transfers are granted based on space and program availability in the requested school.  Availability is determined by current and projected enrollment needs.  Please read the back of the Intra form carefully before submitting the Intra request.  Transportation will not be provided for students who chose to attend outside their boundary school except as required by 20 USC 6316, for transfers out of the Title 1 program. 

All applicants will be notified by mail as to whether their applications have been approved, denied, or placed on a waitlist.  Students can only be placed on a waitlist if they are trying to return to their boundary school, have a sibling already attending the requested school or the parent is a district employee assigned to the requested school.  To see what priority order your student will be considered, please click here.    Considerarán en el siguiente orden

If requests for transfers exceed the capacity, a separate lottery will be conducted to determine admission of students for each enrollment priority.  Enrollment in a school of choice shall be determined by random lottery, and a waiting list will be established to indicate the order in which students may be accepted as openings occur.  This waitlist will become null and void on the first day of school.

New enrollees between May 2nd and the end of the current school year, who submit an intradistrict transfer request within 5 days of enrollment, will be notified by June 15, 2021.

New Transitional Kindergarten (TK) & Kindergarten Once you have enrolled your student for the 2021-2022 school year, you MUST turn in their applications on or before March 12, 2021 to be notified by April 15, 2021.  Registration will be held March 2nd-4th by appointment only.  You can turn in your Intra the day you enroll your student, NOT BEFORE. Please call your boundary school starting Feb 9th to schedule your appointment.

If you are MOVING within the BUSD boundaries, and wish to have your student remain at their current school site or transfer to your new boundary school, please bring your new proof of residency to your current school’s office staff and fill out the transfer request.

OE1 & OE2 for the 2020-2021 school year is closed.



OE1 (Period 1) for the 2021-2022 school year is now CLOSED!

PERIOD 1:  Opens on January 11, 2021 and closes on March 1, 2021 at 4:00 pm.  Notifications will be mailed by April 1st.

If you want to return to your boundary school from which you were displaced, or if you wish to attend another school for any reason, you must submit an Intradistrict Transfer request.   Notifications will be mailed by April 1st.
